Collaboration with Pacifica, CA

We have selected the community within the city of Pacifica in San Mateo County for its potential to be a productive fog-harvesting region. Our goal is to gather data from residents about their experiences with fog collectors.

With our funding, we are building 12 garden bed fog collectors that will be available to adopt by the participants of our program. In return, we ask that participants provide survey data documenting their use of the collectors. This data will be used in ongoing research regarding the harvesting of coastal fog in Northern California. The goal is to see if fog can really become a viable and reliant water source for coastal communities through fog collector mechanisms.

Our team is accepting applications from participants who would like to host a fog collector on their property! We will build and set up the collectors, and we ask that you record your findings over two years and keep them in good working condition. When our research is complete, you can choose to keep the collector, or we can take it back.

Fog Collector Adoption Monthly Feedback Form
If you are a current participant in the Fog Collector Adoption Program, please fill out this form during the second and last week of each month. A lot can change in two weeks, especially during the foggy season of May to September. This helps us record data that will improve our fog collectors and our organization as a whole. Your feedback is much appreciated!
